Here’s a Romantic Mix of Downtempo Lounge Music for Valentine’s Day with a strong Brazilian flavor. Let’s call it something special for the ladies. Download these songs and press play. You’re sure to have an enjoyable night.
For our part here at The Oxhorn, we’d like to contribute to the epidemic with a whittled down Best of the Best of Lists. A meta-list, of sorts.
A few of our own picks round out the bottom of the list.
2007
5. 9b.net’s Top 5 Albums
Simple, interesting, good music. Focused on a raw, Americana sound, 9 Bullets backs up their claims with plenty of songs to download. Special props for the Kenny Wayne Sheppard blues jams.
4. The Onion’s Least Essential Albums of 2007
In case you wanted to know what you shouldn’t spend your money on, The Onion drops a typically amusing list. If you purchased any of these albums, our apologies.
3. Get Big, Little Kid’s Top Songs
A great list of songs, some more off the beaten path than others. I like the choice of “Impossible Germany” as top song - it’s a real standout from Wilco’s Sky Blue Sky, an album that has, unfortunately, been buried over the year.
2. The Yellow Stereo’s Favorite Albums of 2007
Wide ranging, original, nice layout, characteristic of the fine qualities of the Yellow Stereo. Check out the tracks provided for download. But really, “In Rainbows” as #1? Was it REALLY that good???
1. Culture Bully’s Top 10 Music Videos of 2007
An engaging list of music + images, with all the videos embedded onto the page for your viewing pleasure. Standouts include “D.A.N.C.E.” by Justice, Aesop Rock’s “None Shall Pass” and the tongue-in-cheek Kanye West featuring Zach Galifianakis and Will Oldham “Can’t Tell Me Nothing.”
We liked a lot of the same songs everyone else did this year. But here are a few that seem to have slipped under the radar.
